Nettle Circle nominated for the LUKB Future Award 2026

We are delighted to share that Nettle Circle AG,  has been nominated for the LUKB Future Award 2026 in the category Technology & Innovation.

Nettle Circle is developing a regenerative, locally sourced textile fibre made from nettles. Its circular approach combines the cultivation and processing of regional raw materials with high-value textile applications and the complete use of the plant. The project demonstrates how technology, circular economy principles and regional value creation can work together to shape a more sustainable future.

Public voting is now open

The fifth edition of the LUKB Future Award received a record 91 project submissions. From these entries, an advisory board selected nine finalists – three projects in each of the categories Technology & Innovation, Social Engagement and Ecology.

The public can now vote for the projects they believe deserve support. 

🗓️Voting is open from 21 September until 5 October 2026, 12:00 noon.

🗳️Each person may cast one vote per category.

In the category Technology & Innovation, Nettle Circle is competing alongside Energy Management System Energy Control and Precira.

Support innovative ideas from Lucerne

The LUKB Future Award supports projects in the Lucerne economic region that generate a positive impact on society and the environment through innovative, social or ecological approaches. The public-vote winners will receive funding of up to CHF 40.000 per category. In addition, the advisory board will award a jury prize of up to CHF 30.000.

The winners will be announced at the award ceremony on 23 October 2026.
